In April, we celebrated students who demonstrated the Character Trait of Perseverance. Students who were nominated earned a Character Education Certificate and a Character Cookie! We also celebrated students who completed the Reading Challenge for March with a hula-hoop party in the gym! Students who completed the bonus question were entered into a drawing to win a Six South gift certificate, and five lucky students won! We are grateful for our partnership with @SixSouth.

📚✨ Celebrating Our Community Libraries: Partners in Learning & Literacy ✨📚
As we approach Tuesday’s vote, I want to take a moment to recognize two tremendous partners within our community — the Cuba Circulating Library and the Rushford Free Library.
🤝 Both libraries have worked side-by-side with the Cuba-Rushford Central School District to support our students, families, and community through literacy programs, family events, hands-on learning experiences, and opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom walls.
📖 From classroom collaborations and science-literacy activities to Family Fun Nights, community reading events, and helping students receive their very first library cards, these libraries help foster curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning for our children.
💬 One teacher shared:
“This collaboration helps spark a love of reading and curiosity. More importantly, the children are building a relationship with the public library and continuing their journey of becoming lifelong readers.”
💬 Another shared:
“The students see these visits as a ‘break,’ but in reality, they are learning more than they know and start to show more of an interest in their own community.”
👏 We are grateful for the many ways both libraries enrich the lives of our students and families each year. Their staff and volunteers work tirelessly to create welcoming spaces where children and adults alike can learn, explore, and connect.
🗳️ On Tuesday, community members will also have the opportunity to vote on the library propositions appearing on the ballot. I encourage everyone to learn more about the important role our local libraries play in supporting the Cuba-Rushford community.

With less than 5 weeks left, our Cuba-Rushford seniors are officially in the home stretch! It’s hard to believe how quickly the time has gone by, and we are so proud of all they’ve accomplished along the way.
To our families—thank you for your continued support. These final weeks are full of memories, milestones, and well-earned celebrations. Let’s cheer on the Cuba-Rushford Class of 2026 as they finish strong and prepare for their next chapter!
